Where's your mind?

So for the past few days I have been reading, conversing and reflecting and I started to wonder.... Why don't people use their FUCKING BRAINS more? I mean... come on. I see so much random fuckery on a daily basis I wonder if people even know how stupid they look. Females walking down the street talking extra loud about a whole bunch of nothing... Males standing on corners with hands in pants delivering all sorts of lame lines to the aforementioned females. Come on people. Let's engage one another in some real hearty mind play. We never tend to have much to say that means anything anymore. Why is that? Are we so caught up in the bullshit of the world that we have forgotten about art, music, culture, the human experience, even love? Come on my people (all colors) we have got to do better.

In loving Memory

I lost someone very special to me recently and I must admit it's been difficult. I am glad to have known such a special woman and although we didn't always see eye to eye I must say I am gonna miss my god mother. I know that everything happens in its proper time slot so I have come to accept my loss. I will always remember and love my god mother for being the second mother that I needed and grew up loving.

Reminisce

Remember back when we knew tomorrow was just around the corner
And we'd surely see it?
Those days seem so far away
Waking up to a new day has become a major achievement among us
And so many of our kind are no longer here

Time passed
Wonder was forgotten

Today we are hollowed out shells of the super heroes we promised to be
We stopped reaching for stars because we got too focused on how far away they are
They told us not to look back
That yesterday is to be forgotten
But how can we move forward if we don't look back
Reminisce for a moment with me
Back to days where screams meant joy
Our only fear was street lights
Otherwise we were fearless
Insecurity was unfamiliar
And we'd grow up one day to rule the world
We raced the sun to see who would shine the brightest
We were unstoppable
Time was our essence
And we were blessed and stress-free

And I was courageous enough to be me
And they tell us to leave the past behind
But if the past was a blast the bring it with you
Carry it on shoulders like sunburn from days we kicked it in parts after darkness fell

I have a tendency to be very loving, loyal, and concerned for others. This causes major problems for me.
