| Alot of time in relationships (friends, family, lovers, etc.) we find ourselves at a point where we feel like we are fighting to love one another. You'll say "left" while the other is screaming "right" and at some point someone has to wave the white flag if the relationship is to be saved. In my case, I'm usually the one with the flag. I take my relationships very seriously with people because I don't have a huge group of people in my life. Lately, it has come to a point where I have to toss the flag aside and stand my ground. This is new and difficult for me but it's something I have to learn to do. I love my peeps very much and will do anything for all of them. But when it comes down to people purposely trying to tear you down, you have to re-think how important the relationship is and if they really deserve to be apart of your life. I'm not a doormat. You don't get to disrespect me and still reap the benefits of having me around. I deserve better and people should know better. |
